Account Supervisor

 

As an account supervisor, you will be a key point of contact for the client and will work closely with your account and internal creative teams to ensure projects are executed as required and exceed client expectations.

 

Scope of Position:

 

Key leadership position in the organization, responsible for building business and setting strategic direction.  Design and manage creative programs to meet client objectives that generate measurable results.  Responsible for overall financial management of all accounts in group.

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Build strong relationships with all clients at appropriate levels.  Seek opportunities to make senior contacts in other areas of the department or company
  • Function as the senior relationship manager on accounts.  Look for ways to stay in contact and constant communication with clients, schedule lunches, dinners, look for entertainment opportunities, present new ideas, copies of articles, etc.
  • Set strategic direction for client programs.  Oversee the execution of client programs.  Provide input and direction to the creative strategies
  • Draft proposals and make presentations to clients and new business prospects
  • Look for opportunities to grow existing business and look for new business potential for the firm
  • Build world-class account team dedicated to setting strategic direction and implementing client programs. Meet weekly with team to discuss client strategies and execution plans
  • Oversee all client projections and budgets within your team.  Stay attuned to weekly projections and all budgetary issues regarding client programs
  • Lead and serve as a senior consultant to internal project teams, working closely with team members from Finance, Project Management, Creative and Interactive departments
  • Stay in constant communications with team members

 

 

Reporting/Feedback:

 

  • Weekly one-on-one meetings with Account Director or Vice President
  • Participate in weekly Client Services meetings, project meetings and team meetings
  • Initial three-month performance evaluations.  Annual performance/compensation evaluation

 

Performance Measurements:

 

  • Understanding of the financial performance of the firm
  • Success of programs and client projects
  • Success of building business from existing clients
  • Understanding of accounts and client business
  • Mentoring and managing staff and resources
  • Establishing and building strong relationships with clients
  • Keeping programs on established budgets
  • Generating new ideas for clients

 

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, business, marketing or related
  • 5 - 7 years of client services/account management experience in an agency setting
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple goals, priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced environment; to move from one focus to another quickly and effectively while utilizing creative problem-solving skills and maintaining quality standards
  • Retail account experience preferred
  • Some travel required
