UX/UI eCommerce Business Analyst

 

Hanley Wood is currently seeking a UX/UI eCommerce Business Analyst to join our Consumer Media group. This position is based in Washington, DC and this individual will report to Vice President, Consumer Media. 

 

Position Objective: 

 

The UX/UI eCommerce Business Analyst studies ecommerce and website performance data to improve the engagement and conversion rate of all Hanley Wood consumer ecommerce websites, apps or software applications. The UX/UI Ecommerce Business Analyst is involved in the overall business strategy of Hanley Wood Consumer eCommerce websites and applications. This person is conversant in best practices and current trends related to eCommerce, consumer research, psychology and the latest in UX/UI best practices, which serves as the backbone of all eCommerce related project rollouts.

 

Major Job Responsibilities & Related Duties:

 

The UX/UI Business Analyst collects and uses research to: 

  • develop UX/UI best practices solutions for mobile-first and responsive design;
  • works with marketing and sales on all phases of a product lifecycle and develops strategies to ensure optimum performance;
  • facilitate design, concept and prototype process;
  • develop an effective and efficient storyboard processes to communicate a user experience and user story visions to team members;
  • create user personas to unlock marketing, design and new business opportunities;
  • conduct user-centered design research and usability testing on all eCommerce websites;
  • develops an information architecture strategy to optimize site usability and conversion;
  • translate research findings into actionable, prioritized recommendations;
  • be involved in sketching, prototyping and on occasion user testing, before passing the design onto the development team;
  • understand qualitative research methods;
  • have an awareness of internal KPI’s, costs and budgets;
  • put user experience and conversion at the center of a design, to make it simple, easy to use and good looking;
  • work closely within a multidisciplinary team, including web developers, marketing, sales, programmers and management;
  • have technical knowledge to be able to explain what needs doing to multidisciplinary team members;
  • prepare, document and present results of ongoing projects to management.

 Reporting:

  •  On a weekly basis:
    • Prepare and present KPI dashboard reports to management for better understanding of areas for improvement in conversion, usability, and site performance.
    • Prepare and present status updates on all ongoing projects with analysis and results.
  • On a monthly basis:
    • prepare and submit consumer dashboard reports to management.

Qualified Candidates will possess the Following:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in user research, user interface design, analytics, usability testing, marketing and other related disciplines within an eCommerce consultative or corporate environment. 
  • The candidate must possess a thorough understanding of ecommerce best practices, website design, UI design, and essential graphic design theory.
  • Ideally, this candidate is Google Analytics certified and has thorough understanding of eCommerce analytics.  Best practices will evolve over time and require the individual to stay current.
