eLearning Content Development Manager
The eLearning Content Development Manager will handle the day-to-day oversight of operations for online education coursework and in-person event training for residential and commercial architects, as well as the concrete, masonry and infrastructure segments. They are also responsible for managing the education team and staying on top of latest/most relevant developments in distance learning.
Major Job Responsibilities and Related Duties:
Managing the content team to deliver high-quality curriculum in the most efficient process.
Responsibilities range from concept development of course through final proofing, including setting schedules; creating and enforcing deadlines;
Maintaining quality, integrity, consistency, and efficiency;
Monitoring content development workflow;
Copyediting and fact checking;
Implementing procedures to ensure that course production operates efficiently.
Course Workflow Management
Organize and maintain schedules to ensure steady workflow of course development
Traffic and track copy, photos, and layouts for all course programs, original and sponsored
Establish and enforce deadlines
Recommend topics for contracted programs
Writing and Editing
Must have working knowledge of Articulate ’13 and Storyline course creation platforms
Must have experience working within Learning Management Systems
Research and write quality course programs that serve the residential and commercial architecture and construction fields’ continuing education requirements
Do first and second edits on manuscripts as needed
Copyedit all content for style, accuracy, and meaning
Ensure all copy and art elements fit designated PowerPoint page layouts and design
Proofread text, check corrections, and review digital files of all course pages
Manage the submission process for credential maintenance programs tied to but not limited to ACI, PCA, AIA, GBCI, etc., as requested by the client
Internal Management Responsibilities:
The Education and Training Developer and Content Specialists, will report to the Senior Manager, eLearning Content Development.
Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience as a writer or editor of educational or training content
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of experience in Education, HR, HRD or Instructional Design
Project management experience
Experience in strategic planning and strategic thinking and in guiding the development of new projects that align with organizational objectives
Manage and develop a high-performance team
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to exhibit comfort with client interactions
Ability to work independently on large, multi-faceted, deadline driven tasks
Ability to manage a team in an environment with shifting priorities
Essential Mental and Physical Functions:
Occasional overnight travel will be required
Ability to work flexible hours as needed and to take on new responsibilities
Ability to work in a demanding environment and deal with hard and strict deadlines
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 10 lbs.
